(Props, "Androcles and the Lion", "Tennessee", "sprung!")
I remember Andy Jones, AJ, returning nightly from his job at a home
improvement store with large quantities of lighting equipment that he
had stolen. These were predominantly household dimmers, bathroom vanity
lights, and all manner of domestic bric-a-brac -- much of it trimmed in
saucy gold and silver. This was in early 1992 in East Lansing,
Michigan, at 412 N. Fairview, in the rambling house owned by Michigan
pro-hemp guru Billy Eye. Looking back on AJ's treasure trove, his
larceny is touching -- our vision at that time was necessarily small,
and kitchen fixtures seemed to be just the ticket for the sort of small
but intense theatre we envisioned.
Shortly thereafter, we moved en masse to Chapel Hill and I saw my first
cockroach.
